ACT XACT Streetlite Flywheel FD3S RX-7 ACT XACT Prolite Flywheel FD3S RX-7 Comp Clutch Forged Lightweight Flywheel FD3S RX-7
600145 is a Streetlite flywheel, which is considerably lighter than stock and is the most durable flywheel offering from ACT. Materials are properly distributed for maximum strength, lower inertia, good heat tolerance and rigidity. ACT's Streetlite flywheels are preferred for street or drag racing. ACT flywheels are serviceable and can be resurfaced with no need to purchase additional parts.

Feel: Noticeably improved engine response and acceleration, OE to mild gear rattle
Life: Heat-treated forging for strength and toughness, induction-hardened ring gears for maximum life
Quality: One piece construction allows less opportunity for failure and provides uniform efficient heat transfer from the clutch disc. No more warped inserts or loose ring gears

Recommended for street and race use
ACT Difference
Forged, CNC machined and dynamically computer balanced for smooth high RPM reliability
600140 is a Prolite flywheel, which is ACT's lighter flywheel offering with lowest inertia. Prolite flywheels are designed for best throttle response and acceleration. Prolite flywheels are preferred for road racing or rally racing, and have reduced drivability. Materials are properly distributed for maximum strength, good heat tolerance and rigidity. ACT flywheels are serviceable and can be resurfaced with no need to purchase additional parts.

Feel: Dramatically improved engine response and acceleration, mild to moderate gear rattle
Life: Heat-treated forging for strength and toughness, induction-hardened ring gears for maximum life
Quality: One piece construction allows less opportunity for failure and provides uniform efficient heat transfer from the clutch disc. No more warped inserts or loose ring gears
Recommended for race use

Flywheels
Competition Clutch flywheels are made of 4140 forged steel and are a one-piece design. This helps significantly in reducing the chances of ring gear separation and friction surface warpage. All flywheels can be resurfaced. The correct flywheel step can be obtained in the CCI catalog or by calling us direct. Flywheel weights vary from 8lbs to 18lbs depending on application.

The lightweight steel flywheel (ST suffix) is recommended for naturally aspirated and/or street driven applications. This flywheel preserves low-end torque and drive-ability. Well-suited for Gravity, Stage 1 and Stage 2 clutch applications.

The ultra lightweight steel flywheel (STU suffix) is recommended for forced induction and/or track and rally racing applications. This flywheel is machined with less material to assist in quicker revving capabilities. Well-suited for Stage 3 and up clutch applications.

These flywheels will work with ALL performance and stock clutch assemblies. Not all applications ahve the ST and STU versions available. Please verify before ordering. All flywheels are SFI certified.
Exedy Racing Lightweight Flywheel FD3S RX-7 DSS 1-Piece Aluminum Driveshaft FD3S RX-7
EXEDY Lightweight Flywheels combine low weight, low inertia and high thermal capacity. They are designed for light to moderately tuned racing cars for drag racing, autocross and rally events, as well as street usage. They are made from solid one-piece billet chromoly steel or chromoly steel forgings. They are specifically designed to reduce weight and inertia for better engine response. Most incorporate special design features to enhance the airflow which improves the cooling of the clutch.

The ring gear teeth are integrated onto the flywheel unlike an aluminum flywheel where the ring gear is pressed onto the flywheel and has the possibility of separating from the flywheel due to the different expansion coefficients of aluminum and steel. Newly available are lightweight, solid replacements for vehicles fitted with OE dual mass flywheels. EXEDY lightweight flywheels have passed engineering tests to 15,000-18,000 RPM. They are guaranteed not to fail to the said RPM, and are all SFI approved.

Chromoly Steel
All EXEDY Lightweight Flywheels are made from either forged or billet chromoly steel. Chromoly is an abbreviation for “chromium-molybdenum steel” due to it’s property of incorporating alloy elements chromium and molybdenum. Thanks to this combination of materials, chromoly has an excellent strength to weight ratio and is considerably stronger and harder than standard 1020 steel or other aluminum flywheels on the market.

SFI Approved
The SFI Specification establishes uniform test procedures and minimum standards for evaluating and determining performance capabilities specifically for replacement flywheels used by individuals engaged in competitive motorsports. All EXEDY chromoly Lightweight Flywheels meet or exceed these standards.

All EXEDY Racing Lightweight Flywheels carry SFI 1.1 Certification. Which means, when you buy these products, you can be confident they are certified for use in competitive motorsports.
93-95 RX-7 Twin Turbo 3" Aluminum shaft. The 1-piece driveshaft that we offer for the RX-7 is lighter than the stock driveshaft, but is also considerably more torsional. A steel shaft can torsionally twist 5-7 degrees, where an aluminum shaft can twist as much as 15-20 degrees. This means a smoother ride and better response. Comes completely assembled, balanced and ready to install.
